Pics of this bus, and ones like it, have been around for quite a while. But I needed something to test out WordPress on the Droid, so here we are.
I’ve seen it driving around plenty of times, but never parked.
There is a ticket shop near my school that keeps a bear out front. Not a real one, mind you, but a bear nonetheless. I like it because it’s always wearing different outfits. Now that it’s Summer, the bear is dressed in a spiffy yukata. ^.^
And it’s not like I’d forgotten this site was here. I’ve just been busy with other stuff.

It seems like most every store/ business/ company in Japan has its own mascot character.
“Create” (a drug store chain) is no exception. Their mascot, seen around the shop and on seasonal coloring pages kids can do at home and then bring back tithe store to have them displayed, is a very cheerful hippo. I can’t recall any associations between hippos and health – and there probably aren’t any – which means the character choice makes as much sense as any of the hundreds of other mascots.
None.
But at least it’s cute.
They’re very organized. There are days for burnable garbage, unburnable garbage, recyclables – even a special day for corrugated cardboard.
But when should you toss out your old gorrilas?
I don’t know that anybody other than me ever checks this site anymore (with less than 10 posts in all of 2007, I suspect that everybody considers it dead), but just in case somebody does, I’ll explain.
When the iPhone came out in Japan this July I was crazy about getting one. I scoured all sorts of news sites, read up on the specs and was all set to camp out for one.
Thankfuly I didn’t have to. (But getting the phone will be the subject of another post.)
Shortly after the iPhone came out, WordPress released an app that makes posting and managing a blog much easier. It’s not perfect yet, but it works well enough for now. There is a big in of though – one that prevents me from making my old-style, split posts with the full text on a separate page. That’s not a deal-breaker, and it has the effect of giving the main page a more interesting look, especially if the post contains a photo.
So of you see antythimg posted in this category, that means it was done on the phone, and maybe even while I was out and about somewhere.
Thus the category name. ^.^
